Permanent Makeup Lips

Many women enjoy lip color, but don’t like the problems associated with conventional lip liner and lipstick. Traditional makeup smudges, fades and cracks, drawing unwanted attention to unattractive wrinkles around the mouth. As we age, we tend to lose our natural lip color and shape due to maturing skin, hormonal changes, and scarring.

Add color back to a faded vermillion border, correct subtle asymmetries in your lip shape, and give the lip an enhanced or minimized fullness for a beautiful smile that fits with your busy lifestyle. Add a shapely cupids bow for the icing on the cake, and the end result is a more confident you with a youthful pout enhanced with the color of your choice.

Matte Lipstick

“Lipstick effect” technique will give you a more saturated color, more defined shape and will look like you are wearing lipstick all the time.

Color can be light and natural (which will give you more options if you like to wear a different lipstick color over the lip tattoo sometimes) or bold and bright (pinks, reds, etc).

Since the pigment is more saturated this technique will last longer than a lip blush tattoo.

Lip Blush

The "Lip Blush" technique (also referred to as "Watercolor/Aquarelle Lips") can enhance the natural beauty of your lips by defining and correcting their shape, while adding color. With a variety of shades to choose from, you can opt for anything from a natural tint to a bold and vibrant shade. Moreover, this technique can restore the natural contour of your lips. Simply apply a lip balm over it, and you'll have a subtle and natural-looking tint. This technique is suitable for all ages.

PMU LIP WE OFFER

During the healing phase, it is normal to experience certain changes:

IMMEDIATELY AFTER:
Your lips will be swollen, sore, and the color will appear brighter and bolder. Redness around the lips is possible.

DAY 1:
The color will be approximately 50% darker, bolder, and more solid than the final result. Swelling should start to subside.

DAY 2:
Your lips may feel dry and begin to crack slightly on the surface.

DAY 3:
Your lips may start to peel and the pigment may appear slightly raised. You may also notice some loss of color where the scabs come off.

DAYS 4-6:
The skin will rapidly exfoliate, and if left alone, will shed evenly. The color under the exfoliating skin will continue to appear light until the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics.

DAYS 30-40:
After a full cycle of cellular regeneration, your lips will have had time to heal, and the tattoo will now be part of the dermis, visible under the epidermis.

Please note that this is an approximate timeline, and every individual is different. Your lifestyle choices, age, genetics, and skin type will affect the retention of your pigment. Sun-beds, sunbathing, lack of sun protection, smoking, and the use of anti-aging creams or acidic cleansers can cause your lips to fade faster, requiring earlier refresh touch-ups.

Cosmetic tattooing is an art, and not a science, so results may vary. While trying to obtain perfect symmetry is the goal, nothing is guaranteed to be 100% perfect. Lip makeup may still be necessary, especially when wearing heavy coverage makeup. This treatment is not necessarily no-maintenance, but low-maintenance.

  • Yes, as long as you prepare yourself by taking a prescription antiviral cold sore medication prescribed by your doctor. You will need to take it prior to your appointment and continue to take it until you are done healing. Without taking this precaution, the procedure may cause a flare up, even if the last time you had cold sores when you were a kid. They are caused by the herpes simplex virus. This virus is very common, an estimated 3.7 billion people under age 50 (67%) have HSV-1 infection globally so it is always advices to take antiviral medications before any lip tattoo procedures.

  • Lips is the most sensitive area on the face to perform a cosmetic tattoo, so some level of discomfort is completely normal even when anesthetic gel/cream is used before and during the treatment. If you are extremely sensitive and don’t numb easily this procedure might not be for you. Lips usually swell right after the treatment, but the swelling goes away completely by the next day.

  • “Lip Blush” tattoo also knows as “Watercolor/Aquarelle Lips” lips technique will enhance the natural beauty of the lips by slightly improving the lip size, definition, color and by correcting the shape. There are many colors to choose from ranging from natural tints to vibrant colors. Lip blush tattoo brings back your natural lip contour. Just add a little clear lip balm and your lips will look subtle & natural, just like your own lips but better. It will not look like you are wearing a lipstick, lip stain at most. There is no separate outline. Since there is a lot less pigment implanted in the skin, annual touch-ups are recommended to keep the color from fading.
“Matte Lipstick” will give you more saturated color, more defined shape and will look like you are wearing a lipstick all the time. Color can be light and natural (which will give you more options if you like to wear a different lipstick color over the tattoo sometimes) or bold and bright (pinks, reds, etc). Since the pigment is more saturated this technique will last longer than a lip blush tattoo. Annual touch-ups could be done every 2 years or even longer for some clients.
